What would be the best amplifier to run the following speaker setup….?
I’m going to be running (2) 5X7′s, (2) 6.5′, and (1) 10′ subwoofer. These are all JL. Could somebody tell me what would work best for an amplifier as far as channels, watts, ohms…etc. I would like to get this to work without a crossover if possible. I’m a little rusty at car stereo stuff, it’s been awhile since i’ve messed around with them.

Go to Kicker.com…look at their 5 channel amps. They are set up for 4 speakers as you have and 1 channel for the sub. Electronic crossovers are built into the amp so you need no other equipment.
As for not running the 5X7′s and the 6.5′s on an amp. Most head units put out minimal wattage and the amplifier sections are pretty dirty. They will sound better if you run them through an amp. The cars that don’t have the mids and tweets through an amp are usually pretty bass heavy and not very balanced. O.K. for hip-hop and rap but not much use for other types of music.
A 5 channel amp is your way to go. Installation is way easier than 2 amps for what you want and the sound will be very balanced.
I myself wouldn’t run the small speakers to an amp because you really can’t tell a difference in them. And I don’t know the wattage or what style of JL you have so I really can’t tell you what kind of amp. Since it is just one sub you will probably only need a medium size amp around 600-800 watts. I have an 800 watt Kenwood amp going to 2 subs. Say your sub is 800 watt you will only need a 400 watt amp to make it bump pretty good
